Fleming Timber Structures was proud to contribute to the development of Bishopbriggs Crematorium, a modern facility designed to provide a peaceful and welcoming environment for families in the Greater Glasgow area.

Our role focused on the structural timber elements of the crematorium, specifically the glulam purlins and trusses that form the striking chapel roof and the roof cassettes to complete the main structure.

Working closely with the wider project team, we supplied and installed high-quality engineered timber components that enhance both the aesthetics and structural integrity of the building. The use of timber in the chapel design not only provides a warm and natural ambiance but also aligns with the project’s sustainability objectives.

The completed facility features a modern chapel with seating for 120 mourners, additional standing space, and the latest audio-visual technology to personalise services. The crematorium is set within landscaped gardens, incorporating an ash-scattering area and ample parking, including electric vehicle charging points.
